Role Overview:

Design & Creative Lead

Key Responsibilities:

Product & Design Development

  • Lead design strategy and seasonal product development for

    Kosa silk saris, apparel, accessories, and home collections.

  • Collaborate with weavers and artisans to create

    innovative designs

    that combine traditional techniques with modern aesthetics.
  • Develop colour stories, fabric designs, and collections aligned with brand positioning and market trends.
  • Oversee sampling, quality standards, and design execution through close coordination with production and field teams.

Creative Direction & Brand Aesthetics

  • Define and maintain the

    brand’s creative identity

    across all touchpoints – packaging, visual merchandising, exhibitions, and marketing collateral.
  • Work with marketing and communication teams to ensure consistency in

    storytelling, photography, and brand presentation.

  • Create mood boards, design guides, and creative assets that communicate Kosala’s ethos of “Timeless Artistry.”

Collaboration & Capacity Building

  • Conduct design workshops and skill development programs with artisan communities.
  • Introduce new techniques, tools, and materials that enhance quality and innovation while preserving authenticity.
  • Partner with external designers, institutes, and collaborators to bring fresh perspectives to the brand.

Research & Market Insights

  • Stay abreast of

    craft, fashion, and lifestyle trends

    to inform design directions.
  • Gather feedback from exhibitions, retail partners, and customers to refine collections.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in

    Textile Design

    from a reputed institute.
  • 7–10 years of experience in

    textile/craft-based design, fashion, or lifestyle product development

    , with at least 3 years in a lead/creative role.
  • Strong understanding of handloom processes, natural fibres, and artisanal ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to translate traditional craft into contemporary, marketable designs.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong design sensibility with a deep appreciation for Indian crafts and aesthetics.
  • Excellent visualization, conceptualization, and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to balance creativity with commercial understanding.
  • Hands-on approach and willingness to engage directly with artisan clusters.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and guide a multidisciplinary team.
