Lead Data Warehouse Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Data Warehouse Development:

  Design and setup data warehouse from scratch while ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with business goals.

• Dimensional Modeling & Data Governance:

  Lead the design of dimensional models (facts and dimensions) and enforce data governance standards to maintain a single version of truth.

• ETL Strategy & Development:

  Oversee the development and optimization of ETL pipelines using SSIS, Python, and cloud-native tools. Ensure efficient data ingestion from systems like Oracle NetSuite, Salesforce, Ragic, SQL Server, MySQL, and Excel.

• Performance Optimization:

  Monitor and tune database performance, indexing strategies, and query execution plans to ensure optimal system responsiveness.

• Stakeholder Collaboration:

  Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver actionable insights.

• Team Mentorship & Project Oversight:

  Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and manage project timelines and deliverables within the data engineering team.

• Documentation & Compliance:

  Maintain comprehensive documentation for data flows, integration logic, and system configurations. Ensure compliance with internal and external data standards.

Preferred candidate profile

• Must have

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience with Microsoft

  SQL Server

  .
• Expertise in building

  Data Warehouse

  using SQL Server.
• Hands-on experience

  Dimensional Modeling

  using Facts and Dimensions.
• Experience with cloud-based SQL databases like

  Azure SQL

  or

  Azure Synapse

  .
• Expertise in

  SSIS

  and

  Python

  for ETL development.
• Familiarity with

  Azure Data Factory.

• Strong experience in

  Power BI

  for reporting and data visualization.
• Strong understanding of relational database design, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Ability to write complex SQL scripts, stored procedures and views.
• Experience with

  Git

  and

  JIRA

  .
• Problem-solving mindset and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

• Nice to Have

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience with Azure Databricks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for database deployments and automation tools.
• Knowledge of big data technologies like Snowflake
