Job Description

As a Data Services Consultant at UKG, you'll be an integral member of a dynamic team responsible for data conversion in the field of Human Capital Management. You'll be accountable for accurately converting US Payroll data from customer source systems into UKG Pro , delivering essential data consulting services to our customers. This role demands a blend of skills including expertise in US Payroll, Taxation, SQL , strong analytical abilities, consulting acumen, and exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication. Functional and technical knowledge of HCM and Payroll systems is a must-have. You'll be expected to work in a shift that overlaps with US business hours and maintain flexibility for other shifts as per organizational needs. Some days may offer flexibility based on project work or customer calls. You'll also be responsible for interacting with various business and technical project stakeholders to gather business requirements and ensure successful delivery. You should be able to leverage the strengths and capabilities of our software tools to provide optimized solutions to customers. Effective communication is crucial. You'll need to clearly convey ideas both verbally and in writing at all levels of the organization, from executive staff to technical resources. The role requires collaboration with Program/Project Managers, Solution Consultants, and customer representatives to deliver solutions based on defined design requirements, ensuring they meet scope and customer expectations. Primary/Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities Utilize available ETL tools to extract and convert data from source system reports. Interpret, validate, and convert data from source system(s) to the target system, including demographic data, taxation, benefits, payroll balances, additional tables, contacts, dependents, and beneficiaries. Extract, validate, convert, reconcile, and load US People and Payroll data into HCM software through SQL stored procedures and backend . Perform balancing of payroll data based on earning, deduction, and tax codes. Reconcile opening balances to be loaded with the original source to ensure all information is accurately transferred and complete. Utilize available data conversion tools, SQL queries , templates, and documentation to promote efficiency and standardization in compliance with approved data conversion methodology. Proactively communicate with peers, internal teams, and customers to keep them apprised of project status and ensure they are on track with assigned responsibilities and project timelines, and effectively implement change control. Create required post-conversion documents, including Issues and Assumptions and Tax Verification. Schedule and successfully complete multiple projects within the required timeline. Provide input on data conversion methodology and process improvements. Provide support to peers (e.g., mentoring, knowledge transfer) including developing and delivering knowledge transfer sessions on new tools and processes as needed/requested. Successfully assist or shadow System Consultants on implementation projects to gain a better understanding of system configuration and apply that knowledge to add more value during the data conversion process. Required Qualifications BE/B Tech or Master's degree in a related field. 2+ years of experience working on US Payroll and 4+ years of experience in SQL Database, Programming, and Transact SQL. Experience working in project teams along with strong SQL skills and knowledge of any ETL tool. Good to have prior experience with US Payroll and any Human Capital Management Software. Prior consulting experience, customer-focused, positive and professional attitude, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work independently with minimal supervision; collaborative, organized, detail-oriented, accurate and responsive; results-driven orientation. Strong decision-making, problem-solving, analysis, task, and time management skills
