As a Lead Component Development Engineer / Lead DRE Manual Transmission Plastic parts, you will be responsible for the design and development of Plastic & Polymeric parts related to all components of Automotive transmission parts. Your key responsibilities will include: - Designing and developing prototype & production intent designs in compliance with best practices, function, assembly requirements, and serviceability requirements using PLM tools. - Coordinating with component leaders / RCCOs for design & detailing, conducting reviews with appropriate competency expertise. - Participating in VAVE Workshop to ensure meeting VO targets. - Leading global localization/product design and development activities for the subsystem from RFQ phase until the start of regular production, validating component specifications during each project phase. - Leading the coordination of different task forces in crisis situations. - Supporting the program team in achieving milestones in terms of best cost and on-time deliverables. - Deciding on component and aggregate level validation requirements. - Communicating design risks, related changes, and impacts to all cross-functional teams like purchasing, quality, project, manufacturing, etc. - Leading supplier technical reviews with different cross-functional teams for technical evaluations, part development, and serial life issues. Qualifications: - Bachelor / Master Degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering Discipline. Essential Skills: - 8 to 10 years of experience in Manual Transmission design and development specifically related to Polymers (Plastic parts), Elastomers (Gasket, seals, Bellow), Sealant & Transmission oil with Materials expertise. - Sound knowledge on design & assembly of rotating components. - Hands-on experience on Detailing, Tolerancing, and stack-up analysis. - Good knowledge of Manufacturing processes such as Injection molding, compression/Transfer molding alongside Polymeric & Elastomer Materials. - Good knowledge of APQP processes. - Excellent soft skills. - Ability to lead a team of engineers.
