Law:Functional Head - Credit

1. Qualification:

To be eligible to apply for a position at Law Department of Axis Bank, the candidate, at a minimum, is required to be qualified to be a lawyer i.e. the candidate must have a Law Degree (i.e. LL.B. or equivalent) recognized by the Bar Council of India, from a university/ college in India. Candidate shall also possess appropriate Post Qualification Experience, as may be required, as per the grade in which the candidate is to be considered.

1. Key Responsibilities:

1. Legal support to the Treasury (Financial Markets) team of the Bank and handling the derivative documentation to support derivate and foreign currency contracts.

1. Drafting, preparing and standardization of ISDA documentation for the Bank.

1. Drafting and negotiation of ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annex, Global Master Repurchase Agreement etc.

1. Negotiating simple and complex agreements with the clients on conference calls and emails and serving as a liaison to outside counsel handling any matter.

1. Drafting & Reviewing Channel Finance & Trade Finance Documents such as Bank Guarantees, Letters of Credit, Factoring, Assignment of receivables.

1. Providing legal opinions under various laws, rules and regulations touching the Bank's business matters, including the Banking Laws, RBI Regulations, FEMA, Companies Law, Business Laws.

1. Advising internal stakeholders on the risk associated with the clauses in the agreements and the impact of those clauses on the Bank.

1. Handling legal matters pertaining to credit, retail, lending wholesale, default, foreclosure, collections, premises, treasury, (derivatives) trade finance and other questions relating to banking, as may be referred.

1. Dealing with queries raised by regulators on various structured finance deals.

1. Handling legal documentation for Treasury and Markets Business of Axis Bank Limited.

1. Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations and directives of regulatory bodies.

1. Manage serious and complex litigation and serving as a liaison to outside counsel litigating the matter.

1. Advice on legal issues relating to new product features and all marketing efforts related to promotion of these products and also assist in developing policies and procedures compliant with applicable state and central laws.

1. Assisting the relevant team in LIBOR transition project and/or any other similar issues. Standardizing new template and amending the existing lending agreements for the Bank.

1. Performing other responsibilities as assigned by General Counsel and/or Group Heads and/or other senior members of the Law Department from time to time.
