This role involves working closely with production, quality, design, and maintenance teams to establish robust heat treatment practices and continuous improvement initiatives Qualification and Experience: - B. E / B. Tech Metallurgical /Mechanical 6+ Years Experience in relevant field in Induction hardening, Induction tempering. Mandatory Requirements: - Strong Knowledge in Induction Hardening, Brazing, Tempering, Normalizing Proven Experience in Induction Hardening Process Prove out Proven Experience in Induction Hardening coil design along with different suppliers. Strong knowledge of metallurgy, phase transformations, and steel heat treatment behaviour. Hands-on experience with induction hardening machines, quenching systems, and coil design. Familiarity with NDT, hardness testing, metallography, and case depth measurement techniques. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Knowledge about forging and ring rolling process will be added advantage. Basic CNC machine operations and programming knowledge. Solid Works / Solid edge is added advantages. Job description: Design and validate induction hardening processes for alloy steel grades and components. Develop process parameters (frequency, power, dwell time, quench method, coil design, etc.) to meet metallurgical and mechanical requirements. Optimize cycle times, energy usage, and equipment utilization. Provide technical support for daily production activities, troubleshooting process deviations and quality issues. Ensure adherence to process specifications, control plans, and other requirements. Coordinate with operators for setup, trials, and process stabilization. Define and monitor critical process parameters (CPPs) to achieve desired case depth, hardness profile, and microstructure. Conduct root cause analysis for defects (cracks, distortion, soft spots, etc.) and implement corrective/preventive actions. Support PPAP, APQP, and customer audits related to heat treatment processes Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation. Drive process capability (Cp, Cpk) improvements and scrap reduction initiatives. Support cost reduction and energy efficiency projects.
