Job Title: Laser Machine Programmer & Operator / Laser Operator / Laser Technician / CNC Laser Programmer Department: Production / Manufacturing / Fabrication / Tool Room / Engineering Reports To: Production Supervisor / Workshop Manager / Engineering Manager / Fabrication Head Location: Nashik, Maharashtra, India (This is primarily a factory/workshop-based role at our manufacturing facility in Nashik.) Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Laser Machine Programmer & Operator to join our precision manufacturing team in Nashik. The ideal candidate will be responsible for both programming advanced laser machines and setting up and operating them to produce high-quality, precise components. This role demands a strong understanding of laser processing principles, proficiency in programming software, meticulous attention to detail, and strict adherence to laser safety protocols. Key Responsibilities: Laser Programming & Optimization: Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models to determine laser cutting, engraving, welding, or marking requirements, tolerances, and surface finishes. Develop, write, and optimize programs for laser machines using CAD/CAM software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SigmaNEST, Lantek, Bystronic BySoft 7, Trumpf TruTops, etc. specify relevant software) . Determine and set optimal laser parameters (e.g., laser power, cutting speed, focal length, gas pressure, nozzle type, pulse duration, frequency) for various materials (e.g., mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, acrylic, wood) and thicknesses. Efficiently nest parts on raw material sheets/boards to minimize material waste and optimize production time. Simulate programs to verify tool paths, identify potential collisions, and ensure error-free operation before machining. Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate various types of laser machines (e.g., Fiber Lasers, CO2 Lasers, Nd:YAG Lasers specify types of machines and brands like Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada, LVD, Mazak ). Load and unload raw materials and finished components safely and efficiently. Install and align laser lenses, nozzles, fiber cables, and other machine components accurately. Perform daily pre-operational checks, calibrations, and beam alignment procedures. Monitor machine operation during processing, adjust parameters as necessary, and troubleshoot minor operational issues to maintain process stability and part quality. Quality Control & Inspection: Perform in-process and final inspections of laser-processed parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, go/no-go gauges). Check for dimensional accuracy, cut quality (e.g., burr, dross, taper, kerf), surface finish, and adherence to all specifications. Identify and troubleshoot issues related to laser processing quality and recommend corrective actions. Maintain accurate quality control records and inspection reports. Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine preventive maintenance on laser machines, including cleaning optical components (lenses, mirrors), replacing nozzles, checking gas levels, and lubrication as per manufacturer guidelines. Identify and report any machine malfunctions, breakdowns, or major maintenance requirements to the supervisor. Strictly adhere to all laser safety protocols (e.g., using proper laser safety glasses, protective clothing, ensuring interlocks are functional) and company safety guidelines. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, ensuring proper ventilation and waste disposal. Material Handling & Optimization: Manage raw material stock, ensuring proper handling, storage, and traceability. Work to optimize material utilization and minimize scrap rates.
