Job Description

Patient Interaction
: Explain procedures, calm anxious patients, verify identity.
Blood Collection
: Perform venipunctures and finger sticks, applying dressings.
Specimen Handling
: Accurately label, process, store, and transport blood samples.
Safety & Sterilization
: Maintain sterile fields, use aseptic techniques, follow infection control protocols.
Administrative Tasks
: Complete records, update databases, manage supplies.
Equipment
: Prepare, sterilize, and maintain phlebotomy tools and work areas.

Typical Work Environment:

Hospitals, clinics, diagnostic labs, blood donation centers.

Core Skills:

Technical proficiency in blood draws.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and manage patient anxiety.
