Job Description

The Laboratory Technician plays a crucial role in driving sustainable growth and building strategic partnerships to position the organization as a market leader. Your responsibilities will include various tasks related to sample handling, laboratory testing, analysis, reporting, equipment maintenance, quality assurance, compliance, safety, and hygiene. Sample Handling and Processing: - Collect, label, and prepare patient samples accurately while ensuring adherence to protocols. - Maintain proper handling and storage of specimens to preserve sample integrity. Laboratory Testing: - Conduct diagnostic tests following established procedures and safety protocols. - Operate laboratory equipment proficiently, including analyzers, microscopes, and centrifuges. - Perform quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and precision of test results. Analysis and Reporting: - Analyze test results meticulously, record findings accurately, and interpret data. - Document and maintain comprehensive records of all tests conducted and results obtained. - Report findings promptly to supervisory personnel for further review or action. Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: - Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning. - Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment promptly or report issues to the appropriate personnel. - Maintain inventory of reagents, supplies, and equipment to ensure adequate stock levels. Quality Assurance and Compliance: - Adhere strictly to quality control and quality assurance procedures following regulatory guidelines. - Participate in proficiency testing programs to validate laboratory procedures and maintain accuracy. - Assist in implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory operations. Safety and Hygiene: - Maintain a clean and sterile laboratory environment following safety protocols at all times. - Dispose of biohazardous materials and waste in accordance with established procedures. - Adhere to infection control measures and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Qualifications: - Diploma or associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field. - 1-2 years of previous experience in a laboratory setting, particularly in diagnostic or clinical laboratories. - Proficiency in conducting laboratory tests and operating equipment. - Knowledge of laboratory procedures, protocols, and safety measures. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Attention to detail and precision in handling specimens. - Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. - Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules. - Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. *Please note that this job description provides a general outline of responsibilities and qualifications and may require additional duties for the smooth functioning of the business.,
