Job Title: Lab In-Charge R&D Location: Hyderabad Experience: 10+ Years Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented Lab In-Charge R&D to lead and manage end-to-end operations of our Research & Development laboratory. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and a hands-on approach to overseeing multidisciplinary R&D activities, ensuring safety, compliance, equipment upkeep, and effective coordination with research teams. You will play a key role in facilitating advanced research, prototyping, testing, and validation across mechanical, materials, electronics, and energy systems domains.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all aspects of R&D lab operations, including equipment, personnel, safety, procurement, and documentation.

• Support research teams in setting up and executing experiments, fabricating prototypes, and conducting performance tests.

• Ensure proper installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of lab equipment.

• Develop and enforce safety protocols, SOPs, and best practices to ensure a safe working environment in compliance with industry and institutional standards.

• Manage inventory, consumables, and timely procurement of lab resources.

• Collaborate with R&D leaders, project managers, and cross-functional teams to align lab activities with project goals.

• Drive continuous improvement in lab workflows, efficiency, and data management systems.

• Mentor junior engineers, technicians, and interns in equipment handling, experiment design, and reporting.

• Support quality, certification, and IP documentation where required.

• Coordinate external vendors, service engineers, and partners for maintenance and upgrades.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or masters degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Mechatronics, Applied Physics) or a related technical field.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in R&D lab operations, with a strong track record of hands-on lab management.

• Hands on Startup environment.

• Proven experience in handling multi-domain R&D environments (mechanical, electronics, thermal, energy, materials).

• Familiarity with tools like CAD software, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or data acquisition and testing systems.

• Strong knowledge of lab safety, regulatory compliance, documentation standards, and equipment lifecycle management.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

• Experience managing technical teams and mentoring junior staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or clean energy R&D environments.

• Exposure to ISO, NABL, or other lab certification frameworks.

• Familiarity with advanced fabrication, rapid prototyping, or precision testing systems.

• Understanding of intellectual property, research ethics, and confidentiality standards.
