Job Title:

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and execute
test cases and test plans
for L2/L3 networking features.
Perform
functional, regression, performance, and scalability testing
for network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
Validate protocols such as
Ethernet, VLAN, STP, RSTP, MSTP, ARP, IP, ICMP, RIP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, LDP, QoS, DHCP, PPPoE
, etc.
Use
traffic generators and packet analyzers
(e.g., IXIA, Spirent, Wireshark, Scapy) to generate and analyze network traffic.
Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
Work closely with development teams to troubleshoot issues and verify fixes.
Participate in test automation initiatives and scripting using Python, Tcl, or similar languages.
Contribute to test strategy, test environment setup, and continuous integration processes.

Technical Skills:

46 years of hands-on experience in
L2/L3 network protocol testing
.
Strong understanding of
OSI model
, switching & routing fundamentals.
Experience with
protocols like STP, RSTP, OSPF, BGP, RIP, ARP, VLAN, IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, LDP
.
Hands-on experience with
network devices
(e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista) and
Linux-based systems
.
Experience with
network test tools
like
IXIA, Spirent, Wireshark, Ostinato
.
Proficiency in
writing test scripts
(Python, Shell, Perl, or Tcl).
Familiarity with
test management
and
bug tracking tools
(JIRA, TestRail, etc.).
Good understanding of
automation frameworks
and CI/CD concepts.
