Kong Administrator & Developer

As a Kong Administrator & Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and configuring Kong entities such as services, routes, plugins, caching, and API management. Your responsibilities will include creating and customizing Kong plugins, implementing request/response transformations, and developing custom Lua scripts to enhance functionality. Additionally, you will integrate Kong with APIs, backend systems, and DevOps pipelines, ensuring API security through authentication, authorization, rate limiting, and RBAC. You will also be responsible for implementing traffic management strategies like load balancing and caching, monitoring and troubleshooting Kong performance issues, and maintaining API documentation via Kong Developer Portal. It is essential to stay updated on new Kong features and best practices to excel in this role. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and configure Kong entities (services, routes, plugins, caching, API management). - Create and customize Kong plugins; implement request/response transformations. - Develop custom Lua scripts for extended functionality. - Integrate Kong with APIs, backend systems, and DevOps pipelines. - Manage API security - authentication, authorization, rate limiting, RBAC. - Implement traffic management (load balancing, caching). - Monitor and troubleshoot Kong performance issues. - Maintain API documentation via Kong Developer Portal. - Stay updated on new Kong features and best practices. Qualifications Required: - Strong experience in Kong administration and development. - Solid understanding of API design (REST, OpenAPI) and microservices architecture. - Proficient in Lua and Python scripting. - Knowledge of DevOps tools (Git, CI/CD). - Experience with Kubernetes, Kong Ingress, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). - Familiarity with API security (OAuth, OIDC, Auth0) and testing tools (Postman, JMeter, Insomnia). - Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills. - Bachelors degree in computer science or related field. - Kong certification preferred.,
