Overview
The SFCC Solution Architect is responsible for defining end-to-end architecture, technical designs, integration frameworks, and overall solution strategy for Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C implementations. This role partners with business stakeholders, product owners, technical leads, and cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, secure, and performant eCommerce solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Solution & Technical Architecture :
- Lead the design and architecture of multi-site, multi-locale, and multi-currency SFCC (SFRA) solutions.
- Create end-to-end architectural blueprints, technical specifications, and integration models.
- Own and refine the reference architecture for performance, scalability, and security.
- Create system context diagrams, data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, and integration design.
SFCC Development & Framework Expertise
- Deep hands-on knowledge of SFRA,PWA KIT, OCAPI, SCAPI, and integrations.
- Guide the development team on SFRA best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.
- Drive cartridge design, service layer design, and customizations adhering to SFCC architecture principles.
Integrations & Middleware
- Architect and oversee integrations with :
- OMS (Kibo, Magento, Salesforce OMS, IBM Sterling, etc.)
- ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- PIM (Akeneo, inRiver, Informatica)
- Payment gateways (Adyen, Stripe, Cybersource)
- Marketing tools & CDPs
- Experience integrating with MuleSoft, Kafka, REST/SOAP, and headless/Composable systems.
Performance, Security & Compliance
- Conduct performance tuning, scalability reviews, and load testing strategies.
- Ensure compliance with PCI, GDPR, and SFCC security best practices.
- Optimize caching strategies (page cache, ISML caching, CDN configuration).
Project Leadership
- Provide technical leadership to developers, QA, DevOps, and business teams.
- Participate in sprint planning, story grooming, estimation, and delivery management.
- Review code, conduct technical audits, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Work closely with Client to translate business needs into technical designs.
Documentation & Governance
- Create and maintain :
- Architecture documents (HLD, LLD)
- Integration design documents
- Technical design documents (TDD)
- API specifications
- Deployment & release architecture guidelines
- Define and implement coding and architecture governance frameworks.
Collaboration & Communication
- Act as the primary technical liaison between business, product, and engineering teams.
- Communicate architecture decisions in a clear and structured manner.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers on SFCC and general architecture concepts.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 4- 6+ years in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (B2C) Architecture.
- Strong expertise in :
- SFRA, PWA KIT,OCAPI, SCAPI, JavaScript, Node-based build tools
- ISML, Pipelines (legacy), Controllers, Jobs
- SFCC Business Manager configuration
- Hands on experience in handling Data and code replications
- Experience in Hybrid Implementation
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
- Solid background in REST API, SOAP and system integrations.
- Experience in Composable Commerce, Headless architecture.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- SFCC certification(s) preferred
- B2C Commerce Architect
- B2C Commerce Developer
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, or Order Management.
- Knowledge of cloud setups (AWS/Azure/GCP) and DevOps pipelines.
- Experience in retail and marketplace domains.
- Exposure marketplace integrations, Loyalty Solutions, and other models.
