Kafka DevOps Platform Lead Engineer Vice President C13 Pune

As a Kafka DevOps Platform Lead Engineer at Citi, you will be working in the Integration Services team within Common Platform Engineering. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain technology services used by development teams across Services, Markets, Banking, and Functions Technology within Citi. These services enable development teams to accelerate their deliveries by providing the necessary ancillary services, allowing them to focus on their core business deliverables. Your role as a Senior Platform Engineer will involve working on the Kafka as a Service project. You will be actively involved in maintaining and building the Kafka platform, participating in all aspects of platform provision. This includes configuring new environments, managing onboarding and configuration workflows, and supporting partner teams in architecting and configuring their Kafka usage. Additionally, you will troubleshoot any issues that arise during platform usage. Responsibilities: - Act as a technology subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders, offering guidance on firm-mandated controls and compliance initiatives - Ensure that all integration functions align with business goals - Identify system enhancements required for deploying new products and process improvements - Recommend product customizations for seamless system integration - Analyze problem causality, business impact, and root causes - Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members - Influence engineering decisions through advice and counsel - Assess risks associated with business decisions, prioritizing the firm's reputation and compliance with laws and regulations Qualifications: - 10-15 years of relevant experience as a Kafka DevOps Platform Lead Engineer - Experience in Financial Services or a large complex/global environment - Proficiency in Kafka Ecosystem (Confluent distribution preferred), Kubernetes, Openshift, Java, Python, and Ansible - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities, and best practices identification - Demonstrated analytical and diagnostic abilities - Collaborative work approach with virtual teams in a matrix environment - Ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership of project components - Comfortable working under pressure, meeting tight deadlines, and adapting to unexpected changes Join us in impacting the engineering function through your expertise and commitment to operational excellence.
