Junior Software Engineer (Full-Stack + Cloud)

Role & responsibilities

• Develop and extend features in our Medplum-based EMR using Node.js, React/Next.js, Python (Scripting) and TypeScript
• Assist in integrating the patient scheduler with EMR encounters and clinician workflows
• Support implementation of FHIR R4 resources, consent management, and audit logging
• Help build billing and compliance modules tailored for UAE (NABIDH) and Cayman Islands regulatory requirements
• Contribute to AWS infrastructure, deployment automation, and CI/CD pipelines
• Follow clean coding standards, maintain documentation, and participate in agile sprints
• Collaborate closely with the U.S.-based Senior Developer and participate in daily sync meetings

Preferred candidate profile

• 12 years of hands-on experience in full-stack development (Node.js + React/Next.js + TypeScript + Python)
• Commitment to professional coding standards, emphasizing clean architecture, code reusability, and support for horizontal and vertical scaling.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, asynchronous programming, and modular architecture
• Basic familiarity with AWS Lambda, Scheduling, Docker, or CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions / Jenkins)
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MongoDB
• Willingness to learn FHIR/HL7, healthcare data standards, and data-security frameworks
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across multiple time zones
• Must be available to collaborate with the Senior Developer based in the U.S. (Mountain Time)
• Expected overlap: 56 hours per day (typically 6:00 PM 12:00 AM IST)
• Full-time commitment across pre-GTM, pre-GTM, and post-GTM phases to deliver the required features.
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with Teleplan, Medplum or other FHIR servers
• Prior work on EMR, digital health, or telemedicine projects
• Basic understanding of NABIDH, HIPAA, or GDPR compliance frameworks
• Experience in startup environments or distributed international teams

Compensation & Terms

• Monthly Compensation: 40,000 INR
• Employment Type: Full-time, independent contractor (remote, India-based)
• Term: 3-month initial contract, renewable based on performance and milestones
