Job Description

As part of the Information Technology team at Corning, your role involves the physical installation and configuration of firewalls and other security appliances. Your responsibilities include: - Physically installing and connecting firewalls and other security appliances. - Installing the latest vendor-approved stable firmware on appliances. - Monitoring firewalls for up/down or issues, documenting, performing root cause analysis, and generating reports. - Creating virtual firewalls with appropriate configurations and policies. - Configuring remote access VPN and site-to-site VPN functionality. - Configuring firewall interfaces, network configurations, access control lists and policies, routing, remote access (VPN), and next-generation firewall feature sets following best practices. - Integrating firewall with Camstar and other custom MES systems as well as with Ivanti Pulse Secure and other Juniper products. - Supporting out-of-band connectivity devices and log collectors. - Configuring SIEM Integration. - Managing firewall rulesets and performing advanced troubleshooting on Juniper SRX and Palo Alto products. - Collecting, analyzing, and recommending changes to configuration information to streamline support and minimize impact to manufacturing. - Analyzing packet trace information and recommending corrective actions based on the analysis. - Following up on technical cases, including proper escalation and management, until closure. - Managing customer communications and expectations, including vendor escalations, device RMA, and coordination support. - Creating and maintaining standard operating procedures. - Being able to work after hours and/or be part of an on-call rotation. As the ideal candidate for this role, you should possess: - A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. - One year of Manufacturing or Operational Technology experience. - Minimum of 3 years of Juniper and Palo Alto experience as a network security engineer. Certification will be a plus, but years of proven experience can be considered. - Experience in a technical support role in a networking/security company or equivalent education. - Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, L2/L3 switches, and experience with security products like firewalls, IPSec, IDS/IPS, Anti-Spam, and virus scanning. - Extensive working knowledge of Windows, UNIX, or Linux. - Juniper JNCIP-SEC certification is required, and JNCIE-SEC is optional for a senior role.,
