JOB PURPOSE

What is the main purpose or objective of the job; and what will it contribute to the overall business of the company.

  • To assist in technical support to all users and Head- Unit Biomedical Services on Medical technology identification, implementation, utilization and replacements.
  • To maintain inventory and make available the medical equipment(s) in Unit.
  • To schedule, implement and report medical technology maintenance (PM, predictive & BM) within stipulated TAT @ optimized cost.
  • To schedule & report on training of paramedical and technical staff on medical technologies for effective and safe application.
  • Assist in planning and optimal utilization of resources to operate cost effective biomedical technology management program.
  • Plan, implement & document Medical Technology Management Program in unit.

Internal Interface Head- Unit Biomedical Services, Clinical Departments Head, Medical Technology users in the unit

External Interface Suppliers (OEM & distributors)

CRITICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

List the critical accountabilities that must be achieved in order that the job purpose is fulfilled.

  • Implement the Biomedical SOP and feedback
  • Assist clinical team in planning &implementation of robust medical technologies
  • Plan, monitor, assist, coordinate and report the installation, commissioning and training on the new medical technologies
  • Implement, maintain & update inventory of medical equipment, along with their preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Plan, implement, report & update PPM, Predictive & Breakdown maintenance
  • Plan and suggest inventory of cost-effective spare parts & accessories
  • Implement and adhere to agreed TAT and maintenance budget
  • Assist in planning, disburse, reporting and update regular training programs
  • Assist in planning, implementation, updating and report medical technology safety program
  • Assist to perform RCA on incidents, suggest safe methods, implement, update and report.
  • Plan, implement & report medical technology upgrade and replacement
  • Plan, implement and report medical technology recall
  • Assist in implementation and reporting on relevant programs planned and advised by Head- Unit Biomedical Services
  • Assist in data collection on biomedical technology management program for periodical representation of quality control parameters and audits.
  • Assist to manage the cost effective biomedical technology management program

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES

What are the minimum entry level requirements for the job, in terms of

Qualification and Experience : B.E. / B. Tech./ Dipwith relevant experience 4-7 years) servicing/ maintenance of medical equipment.

Skills and Knowledge & Competencies

  • Experience in medical technology maintenance in select area
  • Ability to read & understand equipment manual
  • Ability to operate and maintain the medical equipment
  • Maintenance report preparation and compilation, and to maintain the equipment records
  • Good communication skill to disburse technical information to clinical team
  • Team Work
