Job Description

As a Substation Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibility will be to inspect, test, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on various substation equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, relays, and control systems. Your expertise in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults will be crucial in ensuring the continuous and safe operation of substations. You will be expected to maintain detailed logs and records of inspections, tests, repairs, and equipment performance to uphold operational standards. Adherence to electrical safety protocols and regulatory standards while working on high-voltage systems is paramount in your role. You will collaborate closely with engineers, utility operators, and other technicians during routine maintenance as well as emergency repair work. Conducting grounding checks, oil sampling, insulation resistance tests, and thermal imaging will be integral parts of scheduled maintenance activities. Additionally, you may be required to assist in substation upgrades, equipment installations, and system modifications as needed.
