Junior Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecology

As a Medical Officer at our company located in Sector 44C, Chandigarh, your role will involve the following key responsibilities: - Inform the concerned consultant promptly upon patient admission. - Conduct and document detailed history and physical examinations. - Formulate a differential diagnosis for each case. - Develop and document the initial plan of care following the labor room PROTOCOL book. - Modify the daily plan of care as necessary. - Write daily progress notes to track patient status. - Obtain and document informed consent from patients. - Perform preoperative work-ups for surgical cases. - Order and interpret appropriate investigations, including hemodynamic parameters in critically ill patients. - Interpret laboratory and radiology results accurately. - Order transfusions of blood and blood products when required. - Prescribe appropriate medications and other necessary treatments. - Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries and explain post-discharge instructions to patients. - Maintain accurate duty reports in the duty register and ensure proper handover and takeover procedures are followed daily. - Fill out insurance forms as needed, to be signed by the consultant. - Perform pelvic examinations, Pap smears, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, and other relevant medical procedures. - Order, adjust, and monitor artificial feeding modalities. - Perform nasogastric intubation and urethral catheter insertions. Qualifications required for this position include: - MBBS degree with MD/ DNB/ DGO specialization - 2-4 years of relevant work experience Please note that this is a full-time, permanent position with a rotational shift schedule.
