Junior Automation Engineer

The role of a Software Test Automation Engineer involves developing and maintaining automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks. You will be responsible for executing these test cases to identify bugs, performance issues, and regressions. Collaborating with the QA and development teams, you will create test plans and test cases, and report, track, and document software defects using bug-tracking tools like JIRA. Additionally, you will work closely with developers to debug and resolve automation failures. It is essential to continuously enhance test automation frameworks and scripts to improve efficiency and participate in code reviews to contribute to best practices for automation testing. There may be occasions where manual testing efforts are required to ensure comprehensive test coverage. Staying abreast of industry trends and new automation tools is also a crucial aspect of this role. You should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) along with at least 2 years of experience in software testing, preferably in automation testing. Your expertise should include working with test automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium, as well as familiarity with test management and bug-tracking tools such as JIRA and TestRail. An understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies is essential, and knowledge of API testing tools like Postman would be advantageous. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and teamwork abilities are qualities that will contribute to your success in this role.
