Overview Join our dynamic team as a Junior Staff Accountant, where you will play a vital role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting skills while contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional financial services. You will work closely with seasoned professionals, gaining hands-on experience in various accounting functions, including corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, and regulatory reporting. What you’ll do Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Perform account reconciliations, including balance sheet and general ledger accounts, to maintain accurate financial records. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions by processing invoices and managing cash flow analysis. Contribute to the preparation of tax returns and assist with tax-related inquiries to ensure compliance with securities law and other regulations. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, and Microsoft Excel for data entry and financial report writing. Participate in auditing processes by preparing necessary documentation and supporting schedules for external auditors. Engage in mentoring opportunities to foster professional growth within the team while enhancing your technical accounting skills. Basic qualifications Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles and financial concepts. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with various financial software applications. Preferred qualifications Experience or coursework in governmental accounting or public accounting is a plus. Familiarity with financial management practices such as budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis is advantageous. Knowledge of wills, trusts & estate law is beneficial but not required.
