Job Description

You are responsible for training students to become skilled storytellers in video production, focusing on both fiction and non-fiction projects, with a special emphasis on documentary filmmaking. Through hands-on training, your goal is to help students develop strong technical and creative foundations to create professional-grade video content for various platforms including media, broadcast, and digital media. Key Responsibilities: - Teach students camera handling, shot composition, framing, and angles. - Train students in lighting design for indoor and outdoor shoots. - Introduce multi-camera production techniques for interviews, events, and studio-based content. - Guide students in concept development and storytelling for documentaries (fiction & non-fiction). - Provide exposure to post-production workflows including editing, transitions, sound design, and color correction. - Teach fundamentals of industry-standard editing software such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, or similar. - Supervise student documentary projects from pitch to execution. - Conduct workshops on pre-production planning, scripting, and storyboarding. - Ensure students gain hands-on experience in shooting, editing, and delivering complete video projects. - Teach students the workflow and discipline of real-world productions. - Share industry best practices in video journalism, advertising, and creative filmmaking. - Prepare students for careers in documentary filmmaking, news production, branded video content, and OTT/digital media. Desired Skills & Expertise: - Strong background in filmmaking, video production, or documentary direction. - Technical expertise in cameras, lenses, lighting setups, and audio recording. - Proficiency in editing and color correction software (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects preferred). - Experience with multi-cam shoots and professional video workflows. - Ability to mentor students through conceptual, technical, and creative challenges. Qualifications: - Masters degree in Film Studies / Mass Communication / Media Production. - Professional industry experience in documentary, film, or broadcast production. - Demonstrated portfolio of video projects and productions. - Teaching or training experience in filmmaking/video production is desirable.,
