Support the Jira Administrator in designing, configuring, and automating end-to-end workflows in Jira Software, including post functions, transitions, validations, and reporting - for a high-priority project with parallel workflow timelines.
Role & responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of Jira Software (Cloud or Data Center).
- Hands-on experience with Jira advanced workflow customization.
- Experience in Jira Automation Rules and Project Configurations at a global level.
- Knowledge of post functions, validators, triggers, and conditions.
- Strong understanding of Agile processes, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and DevOps.
- Proficiency with JQL (Jira Query Language).
Practical / Hands-on Skills:
- Able to create/test workflows live in staging or production.
- Comfortable using Jira system admin settings, user roles, groups, and permission global configuration.
- Able to work with custom fields, behaviors, and field configurations.
- Automate processes using Jira automation rules to reduce manual overhead and improve efficiency/post functions.
- Comfortable in Jira dashboards using various gadgets such as 2D filter statistics, pie charts, and issue statistics to track project metrics, workflow stages, and issue status.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and document custom Jira workflows.
- Configure workflow schemes, issue types, screen scheme, fields, permissions, and notification scheme.
- Set up automation rules using Jira Automation.
- Configure post functions, validators, and conditions on workflow transitions.
- Collaborate with Jira admin, product managers, and technical teams to ensure that business processes are accurately reflected in Jira, while also working with teams to define and enforce Jira project rules, governance standards, and naming conventions.
- Create dashboards and reports using gadgets, filters, and JQL.
- Strong troubleshooting and deploying workflow changes without impacting existing projects.
- Work on parallel tasks to accelerate delivery timelines.
