1. Understand and make design as per customer requirements on the floor

• Create designs based on given requirements by customers or for stock
• Handle custom orders with precision, completing designs on time with all specifications
• Assist sales staff in customized designing, offer customer consultation, make rough sketches and advise on technical and aesthetic aspects of a design
• Visit showrooms regularly and on Designers Day to understand products, requirements of internal and external customers, showcase portfolios to them and gather feedback

Designing of Jewellery for Stock

• Collect the requirement details from the concerned, conduct basic research to understand the needs/ get inspired.
• Present rough sketches for approval, and develop further on approved concepts
• Create designs for stock that enhance the overall product offering
• Innovate within given design briefs and produce creative designs of a high level of quality and detailing
• Coordinate with the CAD designers and ensure accurate translation of sketches into CAD.

3. Creativity of designs

Come up with creative concepts and designs for competitions to bring recognition to the company

4. Productivity

• Manage workload and seek guidance of senior designers/ supervisors/ manager wherever required
• Ensure speed and maintenance of quality standards in completion of given tasks
• Meet the target set for the month and drive to exceed it

5. Market Trends and fashions

• Visit lifestyle boutiques, art shows, exhibitions to analyze and assimilate the latest trends in the fashion industry so as to bring in vibrancy and improve sales
• Constantly update knowledge through reference books, magazines and other media providing information on design
• Stay updated on market and fashion trends to ensure new designs are developed in tune with these

6. Archiving of designs

• Save and backup hard and soft copies of designs as instructed by supervisor/ manager and hand over to Design Assistant to cater to archiving needs of the department

7. Other task and activities

• Other task and activities as and when assigned by your immediate manager.
