Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Application Development:
Design and develop scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, or Quarkus.
Containerization:
Pack applications into
Docker
containers, ensuring efficient image sizes and secure configurations.
Kubernetes Orchestration:
Write and manage Kubernetes manifests (YAML) for Deployments, Services, Ingress, and ConfigMaps to automate scaling and lifecycle management.
CI/CD Integration:
Build and maintain automated pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions to deploy Java apps directly to Kubernetes clusters.
Performance Tuning:
Optimize JVM settings (e.g., memory limits, garbage collection) for container environments to prevent "Out Of Memory" (OOM) kills.
Monitoring & Observability:
Implement logging and metrics (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure the health of Java services running in pods.

Key Skills & Qualifications

Java Ecosystem:
Proficiency in Java (8/11/17+), Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
K8s Expertise:
Hands-on experience with kubectl, Helm charts, and understanding of core objects like Pods and Nodes.
Cloud Platforms:
Experience with managed services such as Amazon EKS, Azure AKS, or Google GKE.
Database & Messaging:
Working knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and message brokers like Apache Kafka.
DevOps Tools:
Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
