Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Java Cloud Developer to join our team supporting our client, MSCI. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Core Java (minimum Java 8), the Spring Framework, JDBC, multithreading, and database technologies, along with practical experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure and GCP. A strong understanding of multi-service architecture, large-scale data processing, and cloud-native application design is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain robust Java-based applications and services.
Leverage Core Java 8+, Spring Framework, and JDBC for application development and database interaction.
Utilize strong understanding of threading and concurrency for building scalable and performant systems.
Work with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) for data storage and retrieval.
Apply advanced debugging techniques and log analysis for application troubleshooting and performance tuning.
Understand and manage multi-service flows and integration between distributed components in a microservices architecture.
Handle large-scale data processing using modern tools (e.g., Apache Spark hands-on experience is a plus).
Design and deploy applications on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Use containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes for packaging and deploying services.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in Agile ceremonies using Scrum/Kanban.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and propose improvements to enhance system performance and development of workflows.
Required Skills:
Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in Java development, with deep knowledge of Core Java 8+.
Proficient in Spring Framework (including Spring Boot, MVC, Data).
Solid experience with JDBC and SQL for database connectivity.
Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and synchronization.
Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.
Working knowledge of Azure and/or GCP cloud environments.
Experience with log-based debugging and troubleshooting in production environments.
Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or a related technical field.
Good To Have Skills:
Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Exposure to Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning tools.
Exposure to big data technologies such as Apache Spark is a strong advantage.
