IT technician

Job Summary:

The Junior IT Technician is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support, maintaining IT systems, and ensuring the proper functioning of computers, local network devices, and CCTV systems. The role includes assisting employees with IT issues, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting the overall IT operations of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide first-level support for desktops, laptops, printers, and related hardware.

Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems and commonly used applications.

Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software issues for end users.

Support and maintain local area network (LAN) devices such as switches, Wi-Fi routers, and access points.

Manage and monitor CCTV systems — including installation, DVR/NVR maintenance, and footage backup.

Maintain IT asset inventory and ensure proper documentation.

Assist in setting up new systems, email accounts, and ERP logins for employees.

Perform regular data backups and ensure antivirus protection on all systems.

Coordinate with vendors for repair, maintenance, and IT equipment procurement.

Escalate unresolved technical issues to the IT Manager for further action.

Ensure compliance with IT policies, especially regarding system security and data integrity.

Skills & Qualifications:

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

0–2 years of experience in IT support or a similar technical role.

Basic knowledge of LAN configuration and troubleshooting (IP, DHCP, switch ports).

Familiar with CCTV camera setup, DVR/NVR management, and video storage handling.

Knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, and antivirus management.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to follow standard procedures and maintain documentation.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional):

Basic knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., ERPNext).

Experience with NAS systems such as TrueNAS.

Basic understanding of firewalls (FortiGate) and network security.

Certification in CompTIA A+ or equivalent is an advantage.

Work Environment:

On-site support within office and production environments.

Occasional after-hours support for maintenance or urgent issues.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
