IT Ops Manager

The IT Ops Manager leads day-to-day IT operations across endpoints, networks, and cloud environments to keep systems secure, available, and cost-efficient. The role owns onboarding/offboarding, access management, and acts as the first point of contact for IT incidents and requests. They define and enforce IT policies, data security protocols, and privacy standards while managing VPNs and secure network access. The manager oversees backups, patching, and software updates, and monitors cloud hosting (AWS/Azure/GCP) for uptime, scalability, and cost optimization. They also manage vendors and recommend tools for monitoring, networking, and collaboration to support internal teams and consulting engagements.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT administration, infrastructure management, or network operations
• Hands-on experience managing corporate networks, VPNs, and secure remote access
• Knowledge of endpoint security, anti-malware/EDR, and device compliance
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and collaboration platforms
• Practical experience with cloud hosting platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and data privacy standards
• Proficiency in troubleshooting across hardware, OS, network, and cloud layers
• Experience with backups, software updates, and security patch management
• Vendor management for procurement, AMC renewals, and support SLAs
• Strong communication skills and a service-oriented approach

Responsibilities

• Own IT onboarding/offboarding including laptop issuance, accounts, access, and permissions
• Serve as the first point of contact for IT incidents/requests and coordinate timely resolution
• Define, document, and enforce IT policies, security controls, and data privacy practices
• Establish and manage VPN tunnels and secure remote/network access
• Monitor and manage cloud hosting to ensure uptime, scalability, security, and cost optimization
• Maintain regular backups, software updates, and security patching across systems
• Manage relationships with vendors for procurement, AMC renewals, and IT support services
• Recommend, implement, and maintain monitoring, networking, and collaboration tools
• Support technology integration and IT requirements for ongoing consulting engagements
• Maintain asset inventory, licensing, and configuration documentation
