Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced and self-motivated PET Bottle ISBM Mould Designer to join our expanding team in Pune. This role is ideal for a skilled professional with a minimum of 7-10 years of hands-on experience in ISBM Single Stage Mould Design , who is eager to contribute to a new venture and play a vital role in shaping the design and development of cutting-edge packaging solutions. Key Responsibilities Design and develop innovative ISBM moulds for PET and PP bottles, from initial concept through to production launch. Create precise 3D and 2D mould designs (injection + blow) using AutoCAD and SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Evaluate and incorporate post-moulding requirements into the design phase to ensure product integrity and functionality. Supervise in-house toolroom operations and manage coordination with external vendors for outsourced mould production, changes, and repairs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project planning, cost estimation, vendor assessment, and timely delivery of tooling projects. Proactively identify and resolve mould design or performance issues, with a focus on enhancing quality and reducing cycle time through automation and process improvements. Maintain comprehensive design documentation, test reports, and ensure adherence to industry and customer-specific standards. Coordinate closely with product development, QA, and manufacturing teams for smooth project execution and production transition. Key Skills & Requirements Proven expertise in ISBM Single Stage Mould Design , especially for PET and PP bottles. Proficiency in AutoCAD ; familiarity with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools is highly desirable. In-depth knowledge of mould maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Experience in handling post-moulding operations and understanding their design implications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Prior experience working with ASB series machines and knowledge of plastic processing is highly preferred. Expertise in CAD software (Solid Works, AutoCAD, or Equivalent) with capability in multi-cavity and complex moulds. Strong knowledge of DFM, GD&T, shrinkage factors. Understanding of machine compatibility. Preferred Skills: Experience with simulation tools like MoldFlow, BlowSim , etc. Familiarity with robotic part handling, automated trimming, or in-mould labeling. Exposure to international client standards and packaging design requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) , particularly those using HAAS and MAZAK controllers . A strong understanding of tool and cutter selection , workpiece clamping , and interpreting 2D/3D technical drawings is essential. Key Responsibilities: Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate VMC machines as per job requirements. Load and unload workpieces, select appropriate tools, and ensure correct offsets and parameters. Programming: Create and modify CNC programs using G-code/M-code or CAM software. Optimize machining strategies for accuracy, finish, and efficiency. Tooling Knowledge: Select appropriate tools, holders, and cutting parameters based on material and part geometry. Inspect and maintain cutting tools to ensure quality and efficiency. Mold Manufacturing: Specialize in the machining of PET preform and bottle Mold components. Work closely with Mold designers and production teams to ensure dimensional accuracy. Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings, tolerances, and GD&T symbols. Translate drawings into machining operations effectively. Quality Control: Inspect machined parts using measuring tools (micrometres, callipers, gauges). Ensure all parts confirm to specified dimensions and tolerances. Maintenance & Safety: Perform basic maintenance of machines and ensure a clean, safe work environment. Adhere to all company safety and quality procedures. Skills & Qualifications: Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in VMC operation and programming. Hands-on xperience with HAAS and MAZAK controllers is preferable. Deep knowledge of PET Mold manufacturing processes. Strong understanding of tool & cutter selection and work holding techniques . Proficiency in reading 2D/3D engineering drawings and CAD models. Basic knowledge of CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar) is a plus.
