• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) – American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)
  

Job Summary:

IPDRG Medical Coders

Key Responsibilities:

• Assign accurate

  ICD-10-CM/PCS

  codes for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department records.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with all regulatory and client-specific guidelines.
  
• Audit and review coded data for quality and consistency.
  
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding changes and clinical documentation standards.
  
• For

  Trainer role

  – Plan, develop, and deliver training modules for new and existing coders on IPDRG coding, compliance, and quality improvement.
• For

  Supervisor role

  – Oversee daily team operations, monitor productivity, and mentor coding staff to achieve performance goals.
• Work collaboratively with clinical documentation, operations, and quality teams.
  

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Minimum 1

  –8 years of overall experience

  with at least

  3 years of coding in an acute care setting

  (inpatients, outpatients, or emergency).
• Thorough understanding of

  Clinical Documentation and Query Process.

• Strong knowledge of

  medical record content

  , including

  Electronic Medical Records (EMRs).

• Expertise in

  EHR/EMR systems

  such as

  Epic, Cerner, or Athena.

• In-depth understanding of

  coding compliance, DRG/APC grouping, and insurance rules.

• Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving ability.
