Inventory Controller (Operations Coordinator)

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Controller (Operations Coordinator) to oversee and control inventory data accuracy. The role involves monitoring all stock entries in the system, verifying correctness, ensuring no transactions are missed, and maintaining accurate stock records. The coordinator will act as the checkpoint between warehouse, procurement, and accounts, ensuring all inventory movements are properly documented and reconciled.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor all stock-related entries (inward, outward, transfers, adjustments) on a daily basis.
  • Identify and correct errors in data entry to ensure system accuracy.
  • C-ordinates up with warehouse or procurement teams in case of missed or delayed entries & documentation.
  • Conduct periodic cross-checks between physical stock and system records.
  • Reconcile discrepancies and check root causes of mismatches.
  • Ensure timely posting of all goods receipts, issues, and returns.
  • Act as a control point for all inventory operations — ensuring proper documentation before any stock movement.
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and accounts teams for approvals, clarifications, and corrections.
  • Maintain checklists and trackers to avoid missed entries.
  • Generate daily/weekly reports highlighting wrong, missing, or delayed entries.
  • Escalate critical issues to management with suggested corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with inventory policies, audit requirements, and data accuracy standards.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong monitoring and follow-up skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP/stock management systems (SAP, Tally, Oracle, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables for reconciliation).
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and enforce process discipline.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in inventory control, stock monitoring, or data validation roles.
  • Prior exposure to ERP/warehouse systems is preferred.
