As an Environmental Sustainability Intern at Grand Hyatt Bali, you will play a crucial role in supporting the hotel's commitment to sustainable practices through Hyatt's World of Care program. Your primary focus will be on fostering a more environmentally responsible operation that benefits the planet, its people, and promotes responsible business conduct. Your key responsibilities will include tracking sustainability metrics related to energy, water, and waste management, assisting in recycling and zero-waste initiatives, advocating for environmental campaigns, and engaging with guests and colleagues to promote green practices. Additionally, you will contribute to documentation, reporting, and assisting in special environmental projects spanning various departments. This internship opportunity is tailored for students who are enthusiastic about environmental conservation and its intersection with the hospitality industry. You will receive personalized guidance from a mentor, a coach, and a buddy who are experts in Learning & Development, Sustainability or Engineering, and Environmental initiatives, respectively. You will also have the chance to participate in employee activities, volunteering events, green projects, employee clubs, and other impactful initiatives that contribute to a tangible difference. Ideal candidates for this position are individuals who are either currently enrolled or have recently graduated (within the past year) from a program in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Hospitality, Engineering, Public Health, or related fields. You should be willing to commit to a full-time internship lasting a minimum of 6 months and possess a genuine passion for sustainability, eco-innovation, and creating a positive influence. An interest in understanding how hospitality operations can align with green practices, attention to detail, proactiveness, and the ability to support documentation and awareness campaigns are essential qualities for this role. Moreover, you should be comfortable communicating effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and be capable of collaborating with multiple departments while upholding Hyatt's World of Care values to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
