Job Description

Job Objective
Designs the overall look, feel, layout, interface and functionality of digital products. Creates interactive content to enhance the users experience and facilitates a productive experience using various forms of digital and web media. Conducts user research, designs, writes user experience (UX) copy, validates/tests with users and presents the design solution to the business/product team for implementation. Work is performed independently on small to medium size teams. Duties and Responsibilities Product Definition Develops application definitions by conducting brainstorming sessions and stakeholder interviews to collect design goals and requirements. Creates consensus via the value proposition mapping and develops concept sketches to outline the product. Participates in project kick-off meetings. Product Research and Analysis Works closely with the project team to identify research questions and plans and conducts interviews, user surveys and usability tests. Conducts market competitor research to include qualitative and quantitative data and consults with users to understand goals and explains research results. Analyzes and interprets data and qualitative feedback to develop personas and storyboards for different types of users. Conceptual Designs Contributes to the planning and design of the information architecture for the product. Builds storyboards to conceptualize designs to accurately convey project plans to senior management and users. Designs and delivers wireframes and prototypes optimized for the product. Usability Testing Contributes to the development of usability testing plans and goals. Develops and configures usability tests. Conducts usability testing to identify usability problems, expose any potential gaps in user flows and gain insight into additional opportunities. Product Development Collaborates with the development and marketing teams to ensure the creation and delivery of tailored experiences for the user. Works directly with the development team to implement designs and to develop content. Performs other duties as required. Skills and Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of the latest UI/UX standards, research trends, design best practices, and technologies. Good written and verbal communication and collaboration skills for working with team members, users and external stakeholders. Good ability to present information and facilitate conversations that create understanding and build consensus. Demonstrates good understanding of fundamental components of the web, including HTML, CSS and JavaScript, responsive design and accessibility. Basic knowledge of business metrics and the ability to translate company goals and objectives into digital experiences. Good skills in developing specifications from low-to-high fidelity, including mockups and prototypes. Proficiency in design tools, for example: Figma/Sketch/XD, Photoshop/Illustrator/AE, Whimsical/Miro, and other similar products. Demonstrates a growing ability to design across all aspects of the user experience, including copy, information architecture, navigation, interaction patterns, visual design, rapid prototyping, etc. Possesses strong attention to detail. Ability to design interfaces that comply with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1), ensuring usability for people with disabilities. Skill in leveraging user analytics and behavioral data to inform and validate design choices. Experience in building, maintaining, and documenting design systems and reusable UI components for consistency across products. Willingness and ability to mentor junior designers and actively share design knowledge within the team. Strong focus on user-centered design, including conducting empathy mapping and journey mapping to deeply understand user needs. Familiarity with agile methodologies and lean UX, including rapid prototyping, iterative testing, and participation in agile ceremonies. Understanding of ethical considerations in design, such as privacy, transparency, and fostering user trust. Ability to design interfaces adaptable for different languages and regions, supporting localization and global user bases. Skill in documenting and presenting design work and case studies that demonstrate problem-solving and impact.
