The Intellectual Property (IP) Intelligence Analyst is responsible for a wide range of patent search and analysis, IP landscape, and competitive intelligence projects pertaining to life sciences, bioprocessing, and clinical diagnostics technologies. The position is responsible for supporting IP counsel along with technical and business leaders across Danaher and its operating companies.

This position is part of the Danaher IP Intelligence Team and will be located in Bengaluru, India.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide patent search and analysis, IP landscape, and competitive intelligence support for business-critical projects pertaining to new product development, competitive landscaping, growth initiatives, business development, M&A activity, and research collaborations.
  • Perform freedom-to-operate patent searches, patentability searches, and patent landscapes in technology areas of interest to Danaher.
  • Assist competitive intelligence in the form of competitor patent portfolios analysis using specialized tools and information sources for techno-legal analysis.
  • Support assessment of business-critical IP portfolios to identify gaps and future growth opportunities.
  • Create and maintain a custom database for retaining and curating IP knowledge.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Masters or Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Genomic Science, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biomedical, Bioprocessing with a strong technical knowledge in the respective core domain and passion for life science-related industry segments.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the intellectual property field. Well versed in tools and databases used for gathering patent and non-patent literature information. Ability to perform various types of patent analytics such as freedom-to-operate and invalidity analysis with limited supervision.
  • Possess excellent analytical skills to search, understand, and assimilate patent & technology information to derive meaningful insights.
  • Comfortable working in areas spanning multiple technical disciplines and functional domains.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English.
