Instrumentation Engineer - Manufacturing - Kochi

Role & responsibilities

• Design, program, test, and commission

  Honeywell ML200 PLCs

  and

  SCADA systems (Experion SCADA)

  . Configuring Configuration Builder Software for adding tags to the Honeywell Experion System SCADA. HMI Web Builder Designing experience for Experion SCADA.
• Design, program, test, and commission

  Siemens PLCs (S7-300/400/1200/1500)

  and

  SCADA systems (WinCC / TIA Portal)

  .
• Perform troubleshooting, modification, and optimisation of existing automation systems.
• Maintain and calibrate field instruments such as transmitters, sensors, control valves, and analyzers.
• Design and maintain process control systems for temperature, pressure, pH, concentration, and flow measurements critical to Gelatin quality.
• Develop logic diagrams, control system architecture, and I/O lists.
• Ensure integration between PLC, SCADA, HMI, and third-party systems (VFDs, MCCs, DCS, etc.).
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance for automation and instrumentation systems.
• Prepare documentation including wiring diagrams, control logic, and functional specifications.
• Provide technical support for commissioning of new equipment and projects.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams for process improvements and reliability enhancement.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies in all instrumentation activities.
• Implement and optimize PLC/DCS systems for automated control of extraction, filtration, concentration, and drying processes.

Preferred candidate profile

• BE / B.Tech - Instrumentation with min. 3 yrs exp.
• Strong knowledge of

  Honeywell ML200 PLC

  and

  SCADA (Experion), Configuration Builder, HMI Web builder

  systems.
• Strong knowledge of

  Siemens PLC (S7, TIA Portal)

  and

  SCADA (WinCC, WinCC Flexible)

  systems.
• Strong Knowledge with programming languages

  Ladder Diagram, Structure Code Language (SCL).

• Hands-on experience with

  industrial communication protocols

  (Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
• Proficiency in troubleshooting instrumentation and control circuits.
• Knowledge of

  instrument calibration

  , loop checking, and control philosophy.
• Ability to interpret

  P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control logic

  .
• Familiarity with industrial automation standards and safety systems.
