Important activities / Responsibilities: Design, create 3d model, and test prototypes for products / Parts in 3d design Software like Solid Works, Auto Cad. ( Product Type: Instrument Enclosure, Electro mechanical assembly, Rubber seals / Parts, Injection Molded/ Die Cast / Press parts etc) Create product concepts, performance and production criteria Produce final concept drawings and specifications. Create parts lists & Bill of Materials for assembly List costs involved in production. Make samples of working models for demonstration Plan Quality Assurance Criteria & make QAP Negotiate/identify appropriate production processes. Travel to production facilities to evaluate processes. Core skills Experience with mechanical design work and knowledge of manufacturing processes Ability to read and interpret blueprint or drawing documents Knowledge and experience with utilization of CAD/3-D Modeling Software. Good sketching and concept generation skills Advanced skills Experience with various manufacturing process like machining & plastic molding, sheet metal fabrication, surface treatment, die casting, press operation, etc Exposure to design & working of tooling as Injection mold, Press tool, Casting Dies, Forging, Rubber molding, etc. Exposure to design products for hazardous areas (Flame proof Product design) will be an added advantage
