Project Role Description :Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance of production and development systems and software products (both remote and onsite) and for configured services running on various platforms (operating within a defined operating model and processes). Provide hardware/software support and implement technology at the operating system-level across all server and network areas, and for particular software solutions/vendors/brands. Work includes L1 and L2/ basic and intermediate level troubleshooting.

Summary:The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex Windows and Linux-based systems and infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of both operating systems while providing advanced support and troubleshooting. The Senior Systems Engineer will work closely with other IT teams to integrate systems, manage projects, and drive continuous improvement in IT operations.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and configure Windows and Linux server environments to meet organizational requirements.Deploy and manage virtualization platforms, such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and Exchange.Administer and maintain Linux server environments, including file systems, package management, and user management.Perform system upgrades, patches, and backups to ensure system reliability and security.Monitor and analyze system performance, identifying and resolving issues to optimize system efficiency and reliability.Implement and manage performance tuning strategies for both Windows and Linux systems.Implement and enforce security policies and practices to protect system integrity and data.Ensure systems comply with organizational security standards and regulatory requirements.Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for complex system issues and incidents.Analyze and resolve system performance problems and outages in a timely manner.Lead and manage IT infrastructure projects, including system deployments, migrations, and upgrades.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and delivery.Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.Generate and present reports on system performance, incidents, and project status to management.Work closely with other IT teams, including network engineers, database administrators, and application developers, to ensure system integration and support.Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and address issues.Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in systems engineering to recommend and implement improvements.Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency within IT operations.
QualificationsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.Experience:7+ years of experience in systems engineering and administration, with extensive experience in both Windows and Linux environments.Technical Skills:

Expertise in Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and Exchange.Expertise in Linux server administration, including common distributions such as Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat.Proficiency with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Ansible).Soft
