Infosys_ API Tester_ Chennai/Bengaluru/Hyderabad/Pune/Noida

Key Responsibilities:

• Test Planning & Strategy:

  Developing comprehensive test plans, defining test strategies, and estimating effort and timelines for API testing projects.

• Test Case Design & Execution:

  Designing, developing, and executing API test cases, including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.

• Automation Development:

  Creating and maintaining automated API test suites using relevant tools and frameworks (e.g., Rest Assured, Postman, SoapUI, Karate, JMeter).

• Defect Management:

  Identifying, documenting, tracking, and reporting defects found during API testing, and collaborating with development teams for resolution.

• Requirement Analysis:

  Understanding business requirements and translating them into testable specifications for APIs.

• Collaboration:

  Working closely with developers, product owners, and other QA team members to ensure comprehensive test coverage and improve software quality.

• Environment Management:

  Setting up and maintaining necessary test environments, including servers, databases, and other resources.

• Documentation:

  Contributing to the creation and maintenance of test documentation, including test procedures, test cases, and results.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Technical Proficiency:

  Strong understanding of API testing methodologies and tools, including experience with RESTful and/or SOAP APIs.

• Automation Expertise:

  Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining API automation scripts.

• Domain Knowledge:

  Ability to understand domain-specific workflows and business requirements.

• Analytical Skills:

  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of defects.

• Communication:

  Excellent communication and collaboration skills to interact with various stakeholders.

• Educational Background:

  Typically a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field.

• Experience:

  Relevant experience in API testing, often ranging from a few years for specialist roles to more extensive experience for lead positions.
