Information Security Sr Analyst-Incident Response

As an Information Security Sr. Analyst - Incident Response at Black & Veatch, you will be responsible for developing and executing standards, procedures, and processes to uncover, resist, and recover from security incidents. This position offers an opportunity for early career analysts to learn and grow in the field of cybersecurity. Key Responsibilities: - Respond to computer security incidents following the incident response policy and procedures - Provide technical guidance to first responders on handling cybersecurity incidents - Update relevant stakeholders and decision-makers in a timely manner - Communicate investigation findings to business units to enhance cybersecurity posture - Validate and maintain incident response plans and processes to address potential threats - Analyze data for management reporting and metrics - Analyze new threats" potential impact and communicate risks to detection engineering functions - Perform root-cause analysis, document findings, and participate in root-cause elimination activities as needed - Triage and assess the risk of incidents, conduct real-time analysis, and manage workload during investigations - Create runbooks for frequently occurring incidents to automate or assist with resolution Preferred Qualifications: - Ability to communicate complex technical issues to diverse audiences effectively - Strong decision-making capabilities and ability to influence others - Team-focused mentality and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders - Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Minimum Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in incident response - BS or MA in computer science, information security, or a related field - Familiarity with incident response frameworks and methodologies such as NIST 800-61 and MITRE ATT&CK - Experience with incident response tools and technologies, including SIEM, forensics, and threat intelligence tools - Experience in reporting incident details, improving response processes, and recovering from security incidents As an employee at Black & Veatch, you will have the opportunity to avail health, life, accident, and disability insurances, paid time off, financial programs, and more, based on your geographic region and employment status.
