As an Information Security Engineer at Rackspace, your role involves configuring, improving, modifying, and evaluating security tools and services in the hosting-based environment. You specialize in conducting technology and system assessments, providing technical consultation to customers to ensure world-class service. You collaborate with teams and vendors to address security vulnerabilities and weak points effectively. Your responsibilities as an Information Security Engineer include: - Leveraging systems like Web Application Firewall, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, database encryption, Anti-Virus, File Integrity Monitoring, and network authentication to deliver exceptional customer outcomes - Configuring and analyzing Web Application Firewall blocked events, Log Management tools, Firewalls appliances, Load Balancers appliances, and network connectivity troubleshooting - Demonstrating knowledge of security concepts, common web security vulnerabilities, networking devices, operating system administration, and public cloud security architectures - Providing guidance on deployment strategies, maintaining vendor-related roadmaps, and executing device firmware upgrades based on security requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess: - Intermediate knowledge of security concepts, principals, and technologies - Familiarity with various security tools and technologies including WAF, Log Management tools, Firewalls, Load Balancers, VPN technologies, and packet capture tools - Proficiency in networking concepts, Windows and Linux operating system administration, and public cloud security best practices - Ability to provide guidance on deployment strategies and execute device firmware upgrades based on security requirements Please note that Rackspace may use AI tools to support parts of the hiring process, but final decisions are made by humans.
