Job Description

Informatica PowerCenter Developer

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and implement ETL workflows using
Informatica PowerCenter
.
Extract, transform, and load data from various sources (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, flat files) to data warehouses or data lakes.
Develop mappings, sessions, workflows, and performance-tuned ETL jobs.
Perform data validation, cleansing, and transformation based on business rules.
Collaborate with business analysts and data architects to gather and understand data requirements.
Optimize ETL jobs for performance and maintainability.
Monitor and troubleshoot ETL processes and resolve data integration issues.
Ensure data quality and consistency across systems and processes.
Participate in code reviews and follow best practices in development and deployment.
Create and maintain technical documentation for ETL processes.

Required Skills:

4 to 8 years of hands-on experience with
Informatica PowerCenter
(v9.x or later).
Strong SQL skills and experience with
RDBMS
platforms such as
Oracle
,
SQL Server
, or
Teradata
.
Experience in
performance tuning
of ETL jobs and SQL queries.
Solid understanding of
data warehousing concepts
,
data modeling
, and
star/snowflake schemas
.
Proficient in handling
large datasets
, incremental loads, and error handling mechanisms.
Experience with
UNIX/Linux
and shell scripting for job scheduling and automation.
Familiarity with
job scheduling tools
(e.g., Autosys, Control-M) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Ability to work in an Agile or Waterfall environment.

Preferred Skills:

Exposure to
Informatica Cloud
,
Informatica BDM
, or other ETL tools.
Experience with
data quality tools
or
Informatica Data Quality (IDQ)
.
Understanding of
big data platforms
(e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
Experience with
cloud data warehouses
like
Snowflake
,
Redshift
, or
BigQuery
.
