  6-month Infection Control Nurse Certification course

• Preferred: Experience in

  NABH / JCIaccredited hospitals

1. Surveillance & Monitoring

• Conduct daily hospital-wide surveillance for HAIs (CLABSI, CAUTI, VAP, SSI, etc.).
  
• Monitor compliance on hand hygiene, biomedical waste segregation, and aseptic techniques.
  
• Track and report infection rates, trends, and deviations.
  

2. Infection Prevention Practices

• Ensure strict adherence to standard precautions and transmission-based precautions.
  
• Monitor environmental cleanliness, disinfection, and sterilization processes.
  
• Conduct regular audits of OT, ICUs, wards, laboratories, and procedure rooms.
  

3. Training & Education

• Provide regular training to nursing and clinical staff on infection prevention protocols.
  
• Conduct orientation programs for new joiners.
  
• Create awareness on hand hygiene, PPE usage, and outbreak containment.
  

4. Policy & Compliance

• Assist in developing, revising, and implementing IC policies as per

  NABH / JCI standards

  .
• Work closely with the Infection Control Officer (ICO) to maintain compliance with quality standards.
  
• Support documentation and evidence collection for accreditation audits.
  

5. Data Management & Reporting

• Maintain accurate IC registers, surveillance data, and audit reports.
  
• Present monthly HIC committee reports.
  
• Analyse infection trends and recommend corrective / preventive actions.
  

6. Outbreak Investigation

• Participate in outbreak identification, root cause analysis, and containment measures.
  
• Coordinate with departments for immediate corrective actions.
  

7. Biomedical Waste & CSSD Coordination

• Ensure proper segregation, labeling, transportation, and disposal of biomedical waste.
  
• Monitor sterilization indicators, CSSD practices, and equipment validation.
  

8. Coordination & Committee Activities

• Actively participate in HIC Committee meetings.
  
• Liaise with nursing, medical, housekeeping, and engineering teams for IC compliance.
