To assist to supervise the update of policies, together with other relevant personnel, in relation to Hospital Infection Control. Participation in teaching and practical demonstrations of infection control techniques to medical , nursing, auxiliary, domestic and other staff. To liaise with and support the ICN in day to day activities. Compiling records of infected patients from ward notifications, case notes, laboratory reports and information collected in routine visits and discussions. To expert in the field of Infection control, hence always available to advice on aspects of Infection control. Receives all the surveillance reports and information pertaining to hospital acquired infections and initiates necessary action based on the reports. Checking by inspection that infection control and aseptic procedures are being carried out in accordance with the hospital policy. Liaison between lab and ward staff, informing heads of department and giving advice on medical, nursing, domestic, catering and other grades of staff, Monitoring and surveillance of Bio-Medical Waste Management practices & protocols. To assist in the vaccination of employees To Conduct clinical audit to make sure that, the high standard of care in place in relation to the infection control and prevention To assist infection control activities. Helps To conduct monthly meeting of Infection control committee To facilitate root cause analysis and ensure implementation of corrective/preventive action.
