Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  1. Import/Export Documentation:

    • Prepare and manage shipping documentation (Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, COO, etc.).
    • Ensure timely filing of Bill of Entry (BOE), Shipping Bills, and other customs formalities.
    • Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs authorities.
  2. Compliance & Regulations:

    • Ensure compliance with all applicable import-export laws, DGFT policies, and customs regulations.
    • Maintain awareness of changes in trade agreements, duty structures, and export incentives (e.g., RoDTEP, EPCG, MEIS).
  3. Shipment Coordination:

    • Liaise with vendors, transporters, and warehouses to track shipments and ensure timely delivery.
    • Coordinate with internal departments (Purchase, Production, Accounts) for seamless export/import operations.
  4. Logistics & Freight Handling:

    • Negotiate freight rates and shipping terms with forwarders.
    • Arrange transportation, customs clearance, and delivery to/from ports.
  5. Inventory & ERP Management:

    • Update import/export data in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Tally, etc.).
    • Maintain records of goods dispatched and received, duty payments, and shipment status.
  6. Liaison & Communication:

    • Serve as the point of contact for overseas clients, suppliers, and agents regarding shipment status and documentation.
    • Respond to queries and provide timely support on customs or trade-related issues.
  7. Reporting & Analysis:

    • Prepare MIS reports on shipments, duty drawbacks, logistics costs, and lead times.
    • Analyze freight trends and suggest cost optimization opportunities.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in International Business / Commerce / Logistics or related field.
  • Knowledge of INCOTERMS, HS codes, customs processes, and export-import regulations.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage tight timelines.

Preferred candidate profile

male candidate in age of 23 to 35 years with good knowledge of all import and export formalities
