Role Overview

Were looking for an experienced AI Leader to build and lead the AI Competency Team as part of our new Life Sciences Centre of Excellence. This role requires a mix of hands-on technical expertise, strategic vision, and domain understanding to create AI-driven solutions in areas like drug safety (e.g., pharmacovigilance), clinical trials, regulatory compliance, and digital health.

Key Responsibilities

Build and lead the AI/ML capability within the Life Sciences CoE.
Identify high-impact AI use cases in Pharma R&D, clinical operations, drug safety, regulatory, and commercial.
Guide AI solution development across NLP, GenAI, ML, and automationusing structured and unstructured data.
Partner with SMEs, domain consultants, data engineers, and delivery teams.
Evaluate, recommend, and pilot cutting-edge AI tools, LLMs, and platforms.
Mentor and grow a team of freshers and junior data scientists.
Support pre-sales, proposal creation, and PoC development for pharma clients.
Ensure ethical AI practices, compliance with data privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR), and responsible AI deployment.

Required Qualifications

8+ years in AI/ML with at least 3+ years in team/tech leadership roles.
Experience with NLP, LLMs (OpenAI, Google Vertex, HuggingFace, etc.), and GenAI.
Strong Python, ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn), and prompt engineering skills.
Ability to translate pharma business problems into AI solutions.
Exposure to life sciences datasets (e.g., clinical trial data, safety case reports, real-world data, regulatory documents).
Comfortable working in hybrid environments using Azure/AWS/GCP.
