Ignition SCADA Engineer

As an Inductive Automation Ignition Engineer at our multi-award-winning creative engineering company, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and deploying advanced industrial automation solutions using the Ignition platform. Your responsibilities will include: - Analyzing, evaluating, and enhancing existing Ignition-based software applications based on defined requirements. - Implementing modular components like Raw Material Management, Recipe Management, and Admin Area. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather technical requirements and align software capabilities with business processes. - Ensuring the application follows best practices of PLC framework, including workflows and approval gates. - Developing and maintaining integrations with external enterprise systems such as SAP HANA and global PLMs. - Enabling automated data exchanges with other platforms as needed. - Managing user roles, workflows, and access controls through an integrated admin interface. - Applying best practices from past MES and enterprise-level automation projects. - Providing technical consultancy to enhance scalability, reliability, and performance of the solution. - Working closely with a seasoned development team to deliver high-quality software within project timelines. Qualifications required for this role include: - Proven experience with Inductive Automation's Ignition platform for industrial automation projects. - Strong background in Enterprise and MES projects. - Proficiency in creating and consuming APIs, building interfaces with systems like SAP HANA, and global PLMs. - Ability to understand and extend existing codebases using technical documentation and process flows. - Experience in workflow and user role management through admin panels. - Solid understanding of industrial automation processes and data management principles. - Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. - Experience working in agile development environments and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams. - B.Tech/BE in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Instrumentation Engineering. Your technical skills should include: - Expertise in developing Ignition SCADA solutions, with hands-on experience in Vision and Perspective modules, and proficiency in scripting languages like Python and SQL. - Extensive experience in configuring and managing Ignition Gateway, OPC connections, and Tag Historian. - Solid understanding and hands-on experience in PLC programming along with effective integration methodologies within Ignition SCADA. - Strong grasp of industrial communication protocols like Modbus RTU/TCP, Ethernet IP, PROFINET, OPC UA, MQTT. - Familiarity with IIoT technologies and trends.
