IDC Progress Consultant Financial Management Systems

As an experienced IDC Progress Consultant specializing in Financial Management Systems, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting Progress OpenEdge 4GL-based financial systems. Your primary focus will be on leveraging your expertise in financial processes and integration to collaborate with IT and Finance teams in delivering scalable, stable, and enterprise-ready solutions. Your key responsibilities will include architecting, configuring, developing, deploying, and maintaining Progress OpenEdge RDBMS-based financial systems. You will work closely with IT and Finance teams to gather requirements and execute system implementations. Additionally, you will troubleshoot and resolve technical/system issues, perform enhancements, and ensure performance tuning. Monitoring systems, deploying patches, upgrades, and creating detailed documentation such as configuration logs, test scripts, and user manuals will also be part of your role. To excel in this position, you must possess at least 5-12 years of hands-on experience with Progress OpenEdge 4GL and RDBMS on Microsoft Windows Server. Proficiency in consuming and exposing web services, MS Office integration with Progress 4GL, Fathom Replication implementation, and installing & monitoring Progress RDBMS is essential. A strong understanding of financial processes including Financial Reporting, Fixed Assets & Depreciation, and Asset Tracking is required. Experience in integrating with Oracle Financials and SEPA banking systems, along with excellent documentation and written communication skills, will be beneficial. Preferred skills for this role include familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow and Jira, knowledge of ITIL principles especially in Incident & Change Management, and a background in Managed Services or Enterprise IT support environments.
