ICU Nurse

As a Critical Care Nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will provide direct and specialized nursing care to critically ill patients. Your responsibilities will include: - Monitoring and assessing patients" vital signs, symptoms, and overall health status, responding promptly to changes or deterioration. - Administering medications, treatments, and intravenous fluids as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and proper documentation. - Assisting with and monitoring the use of life-support equipment such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors. - Collaborating with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. - Documenting patients" progress, complications, and responses to treatments accurately and maintaining up-to-date patient records. - Ensuring a safe and sterile environment by following infection control procedures and hospital protocols. - Providing emotional support to patients and families, offering education and guidance on treatment plans, recovery, and post-ICU care. - Responding to and managing emergency situations, providing immediate care as needed and participating in ongoing education and training to stay current with ICU nursing practices. Qualifications required for this role include: - Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. - Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. - Experience in critical care or ICU nursing is preferred. - Strong clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills. - Ability to manage high-stress situations and deliver care under pressure. - Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. In this position, you will work in a high-acuity, fast-paced ICU environment with frequent exposure to critical and life-threatening medical conditions. Extended shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays, may be required. You should have the physical stamina for standing, walking, and providing hands-on care for patients, along with occasional exposure to hazardous materials, including biohazards and infectious diseases.,
