Position Overview As the Section Leader-Machine Shop, you will be responsible for leading daily Machining Operations across a range of Machines such as VMC, HMC, Double Column, CNC Turning, Hydraulic Press Brake, and Boring Machines. You will ensure Delivery Adherence, Quality, Safety, Operator Performance, and Continuous improvement in a high-mix, high-volume environment. The role demands strong technical depth in Machining and Leadership of a 60+ member workforce. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities 1. Production & Daily Work Management AccountabilitiesResponsibilities: Ensure daily machining targets are met as per customer delivery requirements.- Lead execution of daily machining plans and review performance in DWM meetings. - Supervise operations across VMC, HMC, Double Column, CNC Turning, Hydraulic Press Brake, and Boring Machines. - Ensure balanced manpower deployment across all shifts and machines. 2. Technical Expertise AccountabilitiesResponsibilities: Ensure high-accuracy, defect-free machining with proper program generation and execution.- Generate and optimize machining programs using GenCAM (or equivalent CAM software). -Ensure correct tool selection and setting, proper workholding methods, and zero-defect machining practices. -Guide operators on machining best practices and troubleshoot real-time issues. 3. Team Management AccountabilitiesResponsibilities: Build and lead a high-performance machining team.- Lead a team of 60+ operators and team leaders across multiple machines and shifts. -Coach and mentor team leaders, enforce discipline, develop operator skills. -Manage multi-skill mapping, job rotation, and performance tracking. 4. Monitor plan vs actual, publish daily MIS on machine OEE, production output, rework, and delivery. Participate in customer delivery review meetings, provide production updates and recovery plans if needed. 6. Maintenance & TPM AccountabilitiesResponsibilities: Ensure machine availability and upkeep via TPM practices. Drive AM, lubrication, and equipment checklist practices. Report equipment breakdowns; follow up with maintenance team for quick resolution. Maintain proper upkeep of magnetic tables, jigs, fixtures, and part handling equipment. 7.
