Hydraulic Engineer

Job Title: Hydraulic Engineer (Dams/Hydropower/PSP Projects)

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the hydraulic design and analysis of structures such as spillways, energy dissipators, intakes, tunnels, surge shafts, and penstocks.
  
• Perform hydrological and hydraulic modeling using relevant software (e.g., Hammer, HEC-RAS, ANSYS CFD).
  
• Support in the preparation of design reports, technical specifications, and construction drawings for hydraulic structures.
  
• Conduct hydraulic transient analysis for water conveyance systems in hydropower and PSP projects.
  
• Collaborate with geotechnical, structural, and electro-mechanical teams for integrated design solutions.
  
• Perform site investigations, data collection, and analysis to support hydraulic studies.
  
• Assist in the review and evaluation of contractor submissions, drawings, and technical documents.
  
• Participate in physical model studies and verification of hydraulic designs when necessary.
  
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes (e.g., IS, BIS, ICOLD, USBR).
  
• Contribute to the preparation of feasibility studies, DPRs, and tender documents.
  

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization or coursework in hydraulics or water resources.
  
• Master’s Degree in Hydraulic Engineering, Water Resources, or related field (preferred).
  
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in hydraulic engineering for dams, hydropower, or PSP projects.
  
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software and strong understanding of fluid mechanics principles.
  
• Good written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and coordination.
